Opis:

Film noir. Jedne mračne londonske noći psihijatra Clivea Esmonda (A. Knox) zaskoči mladi razbojnik Frank Clemmons (D. Bogarde) naoružan pištoljem, ali ga Esmond uspije svladati. Predloži mu izbor između toga da ga preda policiji ili da se podvrgne njegovoj terapiji. Naime, Esmond je uvjeren da terapijom može promijeniti kriminalnu prirodu mladog Clemmonsa, a Clemmonsu je to draže od zatvora. Esmondova supruga Glenda (A. Smith) na početku je neprijateljski raspoložena prema zgodnom kriminalcu, ali malo-pomalo zagrije se za njihovog "gosta"...

"Uspavani tigar" prvi je britanski film Josepha Loseyja (Betonska džungla, Ljubavni glasnik, Za kralja i domovinu) koji se iz SAD-a doselio u Europu nakon što je u doba McCarthyja počela istraga protiv njega zbog navodne komunističke djelatnosti. Selidba nije do kraja riješila problem jer na "Uspavanom tigru" nije potpisan svojim imenom i prezimenom već pseudonimom, Victor Hanbury.
