Gospodar prstenova je animirani film iz 1978. koji je režirao Ralf Bakši. To je adaptacija prve polovine Tolkinovog Gospodara prstenova (radnja prestaje posle bitke kod Helmove klisure). Smešten u Međuzemlju, film prati grupu hobita, vilenjaka, ljudi, patuljaka i čarobnjaka koji osnuju Družinu. Oni kreću na zadatak uništavanja Prstena Jednog kojeg je načinio Gospodar tame Sauron.
