Opis:


Phillipe Charboneau is the illegitimate son of an English duke. When he travels from France to England to claim his inheritance, he incurs the wrath of his father's family and is forced to flee to America, where he becomes involved in the events leading to the American Revolution.

    Prvi dio filmske trilogije / mini-serije "Kronike obitelji Kent" prema romanima Johna Jakesa (autora Sjevera i Juga) nastalim povodom 200-godišnjice američke revolucije.

    Godina je 1771., mladi Phillipe Charboneau nezakoniti je sin engleskog vojvode od Kenta. Odrasta u siromaštvu na francuskom selu s majkom, bivšom glumicom, nesvjestan svoga podrijetla. Kad iznenada stiže pismo da je vojvoda teško bolestan, majka mu otkriva dugo čuvanu tajnu i uvjerava ga da je vrijeme da zatraži svoje pravo na naslijedstvo. Dolaskom u Englesku Philip dolazi u sukob svojim polubratom i vojvodinom obitelji koji ga pokušavaju ubiti, te da bi spasio živu glavu Philip je prisiljen pobjeći brodom u Ameriku gdje se upravo zakuhavaju napetosti i događaji uoči američke revolucije, te se Philip uključuje u njih.
