Film prikazuje ubojstvo prvog poljskog predsjednika Gabriela Narutowicza, kojeg je 1922. godine ubio glumac Eligiusz Niewiadomski, simpatizer Endecje - poljskog političkog pokreta.
Na 28. filmskom festivalu u Berlinu film je osvojio nagradu Srebrni medvjed za izniman umjetnički doprinos.
