Dobitnici Oskara Voren Biti i Džuli Kristi glume u filmu koji predstavlja viziju američkog zapada režisera Roberta Altmana.
Kockar i prostitutka započinju zajednički posao u prljavom rudarskom gradiću na zapadu tako što hrane poroke njegovih moralno iskvarenih stanovnika.
