Opis:

U avgustu 1952. pored puta u Provansi, pronađena su tela svirepo ubijene britanske porodice. U kasnijoj istrazi, uhapšen je lokalni zemljoposednik, 75-godišnji Gaston Dominisi (Žan Gaben) koga su prijavili njegovi sinovi. Dominisi priznaje da je ubio porodicu i skoro je izvesno da će biti optužen i osuđen na smrt. Ali slučaj počinje da se ruši. Starac povlači svoje priznanje i nedostatak dokaza protiv njega postaje očigledan.
