Opis:

Američki crno-bijeli film snimljen 1934. u režiji Mitchella Leisena. Po žanru je kombinacija melodrame i fantastičnog filma, a temelji se na kazališnom komadu La morte in vacanza italijanskog pisca Alberta Caselle. Naslovni protagonist, čiji lik tumači Fredric March je Smrt koja odluči na tri dana uzeti ljudski oblik kako bi doznao zašto je se ljudi boje. Sticajem okolnosti će se zaljubiti u lijepu djevojku (koju tumači Evelyn Venable) te morati odlučiti hoće li je uzeti sa sobom ili ostaviti da živi. Death Takes a Holiday je postigao veliki uspjeh, te se smatra jednom od najboljih fantastičnih melodrama klasičnog Hollywooda.

Godine 1971. je napravljen remake u obliku istoimenog TV-filma, a 1998. mnogo poznatija, ali i neuspješnija obrada pod naslovom Meet Joe Black.
