Okupirana Francuska tokom Drugog svetskog rata. Američki pilot Džon je oboren i Pokret otpora ga sklanja u samostan. Mlada iskušenica Klotilda zainteresuje se za njega i spremna je da mu pomogne da pobegne u Englesku. Džon se predstavlja kao muž gospođe Bušar, žene iz susednog sela.
