Opis:


Nakon što ju je već utjelovila u filmu The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex iz 1939., Bette Davis se vraća ulozi engleske kraljice Elizabete I. u ovom klasiku Henryja Kostera. Prema scenariju Harryja Browna i Mindreta Lorda odnos između kraljice Elizabete I. i pustolova Sira Waltera Raleigha bio je i više nego srdačan.

Raleigh je prikazan kao šarmantni oportunist koji koji namjerno zavodi Kraljicus ciljem da ona financira njegovu ekspediciju u Novi Svijet. Komplikacije nastaju kada se Sir Walter zaljubi u dvorsku damu Beth Throgmorton.
