Opis:

Kratak sadržaj:
Film govori o karijeri čuvenog pevača Ala Džolsona koji je u istoriju kinematografije ušao kao prvi glumac koji je igrao u zvučnom filmu. Taj film se zvao "Pevač džeza" i snimljen je 1927.
Jevrejski dečak Esa Jolson, sin kantora sinagoge, protiv očeve volje napušta pevanje u jevrejskom hramu i okreće se svetu šoubiznisa. Postaje slavan, zaljubljuje se i ženi nejevrejsku plesačicu. Njegova supruga ga nagovara da se odrekne šoubiznisa. On prinosi tu žrtvu na oltar ljubavi, ali se na kraju ipak odlučuje za pevanje i povratak na pozornicu.
Film je nominovan za Oskara u četiri kategorije, a dobio je dva: za muziku i za specijalne zvučne efekte.
