Mestašce na obodu Brisela uzdrmano je tragičnom pogibijom sedmogodišnjeg dečaka
koga je nesavesni vozač ostavio u jarku kraj puta.

Jedne večeri Francis se vraća kući vidno neraspložen s oštećenjem na prednjem delu auta,
što njegova supruga An odmah primećuje. Nekoliko sati kasnije, telo nesrećnog dečaka u jarku
pored obližnjeg puta pronalazi Kris, prva komšinica Francisa i An. Poziva policiju, ali dok oni
stignu telo nestaje. Kris je u panici, a situaciju joj dodatno otežava bivši muž koji je u depresiji
i preti da će izvršiti samoubistvo. Stvari se jako komplikuju, a životi glavnih junaka se sudbinski
prepliću...
