Opis:
Oliver Kromvel (Ričard Haris), anglikanski puritanac, imao je dve životne misije: da iskoreni sveopštu korupciju u Engleskoj i spreči širenje katolicizma. Bio je vođa parlamentarnih snaga, a kasnije postao lord-protektor i napadao neodlučnog kralja Čarlsa I (Alek Ginis) kroz niz sukoba, progoneći irske katolike i prikupljajući novac za borbu protiv škotske vojske. Sukobi dostižu vrhunac u bici između njegovih parlamentaraca i kraljevih vitezova, posle koje je Kromvel postao jedini čovek u engleskoj istoriji koji je pogubio kralja.
